Every saturday morning workers roll the large garbage bin down the driveway at our apartment and dump it into the garbage truck. Usually it's an annoyance, because they come early, but today i decided to record it. I think they thought i was recording them to complain or something, but i told them it was just for my sound effects collection. Recorded with: sanken cs-1e, fostex fr2le.

An early 2015 recording of the ambience at new york sub hub, a sandwich restaurant just off the campus of the university of north texas in denton, texas. This restaurant is to be closed in the spring of 2021.

This is all of my 27 samples of cracking and peeling boiled eggs mixed into one! doesn't it sound just so wonderfully disgusting? xd.

As these are recorded using binaural in-ear mics, i purposefully don't turn my head to keep the sound clean and coming from the same direction. This was recorded in the burbank town center food-court area. I was careful to avoid specific conversation for legal purposes. There was a cranky baby nearby, so you get an occasional frantic cry. Background noise at a noisy japanese diner called saizeria in tokyo. Recorded sometime between 10:00-11:59 pm, you can hear people drinking and eating and having lively conversations in japanese. This is a stereo recording made with 2 coincidental mics at 120゜angles and 2 coincidental mics at 90゜angles.

Just some recording of a dried, brittle chili pepper with little seeds inside - up way way close to the mic (a zoom h2n). Some suggested sound design use cases: run this through granular fx for a nice drone texture. Use as an impulse response for a convolution reverb (then run tones through the convolution). Use as a trigger in vcv rack, allowing it's peaks to fire off samples or synth pulses. Or just use it plain within your next experimental acousmatic piece hit single.
